Sunday, December 27th 2009, Tangomagia Rabozaal Amsterdam.

The twelfth edition of the well known international festival for Argentine tango in Amsterdam, We are proud that Tangotación will be there for the first time......

In this festival, we invite you to share with us the intimacy, tradition and avant-garde of tango in the festive period between Christmas and New Year. As always Tangomagia offers beautiful locations, the best line-up of tango dancers from Buenos Aires and Europe, and every day a free Tango Café in the afternoon.

Tangueros and tangueras from all over the world will visit Tangomagia and Amsterdam. During five days and nights, Amsterdam will be the capital of Argentine Tango.

Tango is about sharing and exchanging, for which the Tangomagia festival offers a perfect relaxed and festive atmosphere.

This year Tangomagia is proud to announce a premiere with a new grand location: the largest night of the festival will be in the brand new Rabozaal (Melkweg/Stadsschouwburg): a grand theater with a very large, 'floating' wooden dancefloor and red pluche chairs. Modern architecture, traditional comfort and excellent acoustics meet in the very center of Amsterdam (Leidseplein).
Tangotación will be presentat the Rabozaal with a beautifull shoecollection, imported from Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

Attention:
If you would like Tangotación!to bring a specific shoe to Tangomagia, please let us know..... The reason for this is that we can not bring every shoe we have in our collection with us. It would simlpy take to much space at the event. So, if you want to try some shoes, be sure we take them and contact us without any obligation to buy them, and contact Lenette: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and she will make sure we will bring the shoes you like!

Concert by Electrico Ardor (9 PM)

For the first time in Europe at Tangomagia!
Electrico Ardor is an Electronic & Latin Tango group from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their innovative music style is a fusion of Latin dances with Argentinean milonga and tango from the origins, before the '20s, using live processing samples with vocals, violin, bandoneon, bass, keyboards and visuals. Their lyrics include humour and everyday situations of nowadays Latin women. Electrico Ardor's strength is based on binary latin and quaternary dance rythms, and arranged to be danced, with a modern touch: mixing the acoustic of traditional instruments with the technology provided by the computer.

Created and produced by Analia Goldberg & Diego Lerendegui in 2007, composers and performers of Argentinean traditional tango. Both performed with renowned orchestras such as Color Tango and Osvaldo Pugliese.

Electrico Ardor performed at La Viruta (Buenos Aires), Niceto Club (B.A.), Festival Cambalache (B.A.), Patagonia Tango Fest (Bariloche), Sheraton Hotel (Asuncion), Parakultural Club (B.A.), among other venues. Their presence at Tangomagia will be their premiere in Europe.

Electrico Ardor just released their first album titled 'Electrico Ardor', which is distributed all around Latin America by Tipica Records.
Analía Goldberg : vocals & piano
Diego Lerendegui : electric violin & keyboard
Martín Cecconi :  bandoneon
Omar Amendolara : bass & stage manager
Gaston C.  : drums & percussion

Show by Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes

Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes have done a lot for promoting tango overseas by their love and commitment to teaching, organizing tango events, and dancing. Their work has taken them to visit since '99 over 140 cities, 35 countries, and counting…

As teachers, Sebastian and Mariana are among the most required, participating yearly in nearly 40 big scale events in Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America.

They have produced as well 13 great scale tango events in France and USA (mephisto tango summer festival 2002-2006; Revirado Tango France 2002-2003; C.I.T.P. 2006-2007, Neotango Fest USA 2005-2006, Antipanico USA 2005-2006), and concerts with tango orchestras such as Fernandez Fierro, Orquesta tipica Imperial, Hyperion Ensamble, La Chicana; and electronic tango orchestras such as Bajofondo Tango Club, Gustavo Santaolalla, Tanghetto, Electrocutango and many others.

Choreographers of the show 'Piazzolleando' presented in Italy, Belgium, and England. They are co-directors of the show Exodo Tangueando (currently touring Europe).

Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes have kept their pedagogical activities around the world non-stop since 1999. Their names are easily found on the top of the casting of the most renown yearly international tango events, such as Mantova Tango Festival (IT), Amsterdam Tango Festival Tangomagia (NL), Torino Tango Festival (IT), Tango Revolution (IT), 59 degrees Tango Festival (SW), and many others, and last but not least, the biggest tango reunion of them all the C.I.T.A. (International Tango Congress inArgentina).

From their gathered experiences, Sebastian and Mariana have developed their own teaching methodology based on the harmony between conscious and unconscious body control applied to movement/non movement. Their methodology also focuses on awakening senses before applying them to the dance (understanding of relationship stimuli – answer, physical and theoretical/ sensorial and auditive), and have as a final goal the self expression, the research of your own dance from the needs created by the student's own tango path, paying much attention to the non-movement, the introspection of the dance, the contemplation.
